We went to Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple(佛光山西來寺), which is founded by Master Hsing Yun from Taiwan. It is a mountain monastery in the northern Puente Hills of Hacienda Heights. Completed in 1988, it is one of the largest Buddhist temples in North America.
Hsi Lai means “Coming to the West” and signifies the dedication of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order to spread the teachings of the Buddha to those in the West.
We stayed in Hotel Maya for the night.
We didn’t do much today but played at the pool side of Hotel Maya. Relaxed in the hotel swimming pool, where floating cabanas and fire pits emphasize the exotic design of the hotel. Kids loved the jacuzzi next to the pool. We enjoyed most of our day there.
In the evening, we gathered at couches of the fire pits patio. Chatted under the beautiful starry sky.
We drove from Los Angeles back to the Bay Area.
